A global fishing and offshore industry supplier has signed a 10-year lease for office and warehouse space at Enerfield Business Park between Aberdeen and Ellon.

The deal sees Enerfield, a 17-acre development just outside Foveran and within the Energetica corridor, become home to the UK headquarters of Dutch company Euronete.

Enerfield operations manager Lewis Anderson said: “All of us at Enerfield are confident that they will benefit from the ever-improving digital and road infrastructure investment, in addition to a number of local investments around the business park.

“The amount of interest we have received in our developments demonstrates that there is demand for quality, accessible business space outwith Aberdeen.”

Energetica development manager James Welsh added: “The Energetica corridor aims to create conditions that attract and support business investment in the north-east.

“High-quality developments, such as Enerfield, that embrace the aims and aspirations of Energetica play a key role in recognising that ambition, offering growth opportunities for indigenous businesses as well as new investments.”

Euronete, which boats of being the world’s leading supplier of fishing nets, wire and fibre ropes and related fishing gear previously ran its UK division from offices in Froghall Avenue, Aberdeen.

Its new premises comprise a 12,000sq ft warehouse and 1,500sq ft of office space.

Sam Tye, a consultant at the firm, said: “We now have an excellent office location that is ideal for our operations as we are in close proximity to our clients in Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Aberdeen Harbour.”

Launched in 2015, Enerfield has an additional 1,500sq ft office pavilion and developer and local landowner Andrew Booth is in the process of seeking planning permission for a further three units.
