A prominent retail unit on Aberdeen’s Union Street which has been lying empty has been let to growing luxury beauty company Nailco Nail Bar.

Extending to 2,208 sq ft, 409 Union St has been let to the beauty firm on a five-year lease.

With an existing unit on Glasgow’s Hope Street, the Aberdeen outlet will be the nail bar’s second location, employing 14 full and part-time staff.

Amy Tyler, a surveyor at CBRE, said: “It’s great news that Nailco has chosen to expand into Aberdeen – 409 Union Street offers excellent accommodation in a prime location, with a mixture of retail, office and licensed premises in the surrounding area.

“The new unit is in close proximity to the 200,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation at The Capitol and The Silver Fin Building, which will hopefully see an influx of potential regular customers to the area. It’s great to see another letting on Union Street. Recent activity, particularly towards the western end, has been very encouraging and we hope that it will boost occupier interest in the area, leading to further lettings.”

Nailco opened in Glasgow in 2017 and has won a number of awards as well as being featured in Vogue magazine.

Salon owner Jayd Linney said: “We’re very excited to be entering the Aberdeen market on the back of the success of our Glasgow outlet.”
