A new exhibition in Aberdeen will give a snap shot of the UK photography scene.
Develop North, organised by Gray’s School of Art, will run over two days next month.
The event will feature a series of free workshops, talks, screenings and exhibitions.
Among the featured guests is Steve Macleod, a graduate of Gray’s and current director of Metro Imaging in London.
Sarah Amy Fishlock – the creater of Glasgow photography magazine, Goose Flesh Zine – will also featured.
Also exhibiting will be two members of the Document Scotland photography collective – Sophie Gerrard and Jeremy Sutton-Hibbert.
The event will also give photography enthusiasts the chance to submit their own pieces which examine peoples’ own experiences of the north.
A selection of work will be chosen for display at an outdoor exhibition in Aberdeen city centre – the closing date is September 25.
Professor Chris O’Neil, head of the art school, said: “We are delighted to announce Develop North as a major new festival for Aberdeen and are extremely excited to have such a great line-up for events to share with people.
“Photography is an art form that is accessible to many people and we hope that the events we have organised will offer something to all practitioners, whether they are keen amateurs or industry professionals.”
Entry to the events is free but booking is essential in order to guarantee a place. Booking will open from 9am on Monday.
Develop North has been organised by the art school in partnership with Metro Imaging, Street Level Photo Works, Ilford Photo and Harman Technology Ltd.
