Police have today released CCTV images of a man they believe may have information relating to trouble at Pittodrie Stadium last month.

Officers have been investigating an incident where a man was struck by two chairs as the Dons faced off against Rangers in a heated Scottish Premiership clash on September 25.

The man was not injured in the incident but it followed on from a weekend marred in trouble after vandals etched foul abuse onto the side of the Rangers team bus outside a Granite City hotel.

During the game, there were a number of incidents between supporters and footage emerged of away fans tearing up chairs and throwing them at the Dons crowd.

Police believe the man pictured may have information relating to trouble inside the stadium and are looking for members of the public to come forward if they recognise him.

Constable Stuart Hache, the Enquiry Officer, said: “We have conducted a number of enquiries into this incident and believe the male may have important information pertaining to this enquiry.

“I would urge anyone with information relating to the male depicted in the CCTV images to make contact with the Police and pass on that information.

After the game, which Aberdeen won 2-1 thanks to a last-gasp winner from James Maddison, the clubs said they would work with police to identify the extent of the damage and find the culprits.

Three arrests were made during the match, one of which was for setting of a flare inside the stadium.

Police can be contacted on 101, or if you prefer to remain anonymous you can direct your call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
