Scotland’s flagship current affairs debate show is to devote an entire episode to the thoughts and concerns of the people of the north-east.

Debate Night has returned to BBC Scotland for a second series, and is currently ‘touring’ the country to interact with a ‘virtual audience’ in light of ongoing Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

On Wednesday, May 20, it will be the turn of Aberdeenshire residents to put their questions to the panel.

Presenter Stephen Jardine said: “Debate Night is the only place where people are regularly able to put their questions and experiences directly to Scotland’s policymakers in their own words.

“Despite the restrictions in place, we are determined to continue to give people the opportunity to question those in charge.

“Maybe you are a key worker, have been self-isolating or your work has been affected by Coronavirus. Whatever your situation, we want you to apply and be part of the discussion.”

The television show will be set up to ensure social distancing between the panel of politicians and public figures in the studio.

On Wednesday, June 10, Debate Night will be inviting questions from those living in the western Highlands and islands.
