Ross County’s star player is under investigation amid reports he performed a sex act in the dressing room.
Michael Gardyne was in the spotlight yesterday after it was alleged he was filmed naked in front of team-mates and the short video was seen by others.
Midfielder Gardyne was not available for comment yesterday but the club’s manager Owen Coyle said: “I’m aware of it – I’m certainly looking into it now.
“Once we’ve got to the bones of it there will be something to say.
“But at this time, I need to make sure we sift through everything and we will deal with it in the best way possible.”
Gardyne, 32, was not answering his phone yesterday and a woman at his home said he would not be back until the end of the week.
But he told the Sun newspaper: “If I had known it was going to be shared online I wouldn’t have been acting like such an idiot.
“Sometimes the things that happen in the dressing room are a wee bit crazy.”
Ex-Celtic starlet Gardyne is in his fourth stint with the Dingwall side and set up the winning goal in their famous League Cup triumph over Hibs in 2016.
Having started out at Celtic, the young winger joined County on loan in the 2006-07 season before making a permanent move from Celtic to Greenock Morton in search of first team action.
County came calling soon after, however, and Gardyne moved to the club permanently in 2008, going on to win both the Second and First Division titles before moving to hometown club, Dundee United, in 2012.
Struggling for game time at United, Gardyne joined Kilmarnock on loan in the 2013-14 season and then came back to County for a third spell, on loan, in 2014 before inking a deal to return in the 2015-16 season on a permanent basis.
