A 44-year-old man has been seriously injured in an incident which took place in the early hours of this morning in Fort William.
Roads around the Auchintore Road area near to the town’s Cruachan Hotel have been closed – causing massive chaos as hundreds of people are leaving Lochaber after the popular Six Days Trials cycling event.
Eyewitnesses have described how police taped off the area and erected three evidence bags on the pavements and road.
A police spokesman said: “There are currently road closures and diversions in place.
“Members of the public are asked to stay clear of the area until further notice.”
Police are appealing to the public who were in the area during the early hours of this morning to contact 101 and quote incident no 0878 13/5/18.
