An Inverness man has admitted a number of serious sexual offences against children.
Robert McGregor pleaded guilty to a series of charges at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday.
Police afterwards paid tribute to McGregor’s victims – saying his crimes were “abhorrent and unforgivable”.
Detective Inspector Jacqui Campbell said: “Firstly I want to acknowledge the courage shown by the victims and their families in coming forward and throughout this investigation which has resulted in the conviction of Robert McGregor.
“Officers will continue to support the families, working alongside the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
“Robert McGregor preyed on young children and abused the trust of the families involved through his abhorrent and unforgivable offending.
“This conviction sends out a clear message that Police Scotland will robustly and sensitively investigate all reports of sexual abuse – regardless of when the abuse took place – helping to ensure we keep everyone safe. It is never too late to report abuse.”
