This is the horrifying moment a footballer brutally attacked a referee after his teammate was sent off.
The official was punched to the floor by the player, from Zaragoza-based side Miralbueno, after he showed a second yellow card for protesting a penalty.
The referee understood to have returned to the dressing room where he waited until local police arrived.
Miralbueno announced yesterday afternoon that they had expelled the player from their club.
A statement posted on their Facebook page said: “Miralbueno Football Club’s board of directors condemns the events that took place in the First Regional Division game.
”He was identified by police – and faces legal action if his victim decides to press charges – but was not arrested at the scene.”
