Lossiemouth came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Huntly

With Coasters’ manager Charlie Charlesworth on holiday, his assistant Stuart Cameron took charge and said: “The first half was fairly even, although a couple of mistakes on our part led to Huntly goals. Our players showed great character in the second half and I don’t think Huntly could cope with us. We could even have nicked it late on with Shawn Scott being denied by some good goalkeeping and defending.

“We have struggled to score goals in recent weeks but both Shawn and Ross were in the right place when it mattered to score.”

Huntly took the lead in the 11th minute when Robbie Duncanson’s initial effort was charged down but Jordan Morrice followed up to net his fifth goal in four games.

The visitors doubled the advantage four minutes from the break when Dennis Wyness got in front of his marker to lift a shot beyond the advancing Darren McConnachie.

In the 58th minute, Huntly’s Lewis Ingram was cautioned for an off the ball incident and from the resultant free kick Kevin Flett’s effort was only partially cleared and Scott bundled home his sixth of the campaign.

Lossie broke on a counter attack in the 72nd minute and Ross Archibald tapped in the equaliser from close range.

Huntly have now gone five games without a win and veteran coach, former Fraserburgh manager Charlie Duncan said: “In the first half we were probably the better side although 2-0 maybe flattered us. Lossie had a go at us in the second half and we would have settled for a draw before the game.”
