Motorists face overnight disruption on the A9 trunk road as a £2million programme of resurfacing gets underway.
Transport Scotland is investing in improving six sections of the road between Ballinluig in Perthshire and the Tore Roundabout in Highland over the next six months.
A total of 2.5miles will be involved and improved.
The first roadworks will be an 820yard section between Dalraddy and Lynwilg, south of Aviemore.
These will start on Monday for two weeks.
Works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, from Monday to Friday.
Temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation whilst works are undertaken.
Other sections to be improved in the Highlands, include a southbound stretch south of the River Nairn at Daviot; a southbound section at Munlochy and a southbound stretch at Drumochter.
All works will be undertaken by Breedon Aggregates on behalf of BEAR Scotland.

“We would urge drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.”
