Inverurie Locos manager Andy Low is optimistic about the future now he has most of his squad tied up.

The Railwaymen are already building for next season with Chris Angus, Andy Hunter and Neil McLean all signing new contracts recently.

Youngsters Kyle Gordon and Craig Gill were the latest to commit, signing new deals until the summer of 2023.

The striker and midfielder have featured regularly for Locos in recent weeks.

Low is hopeful of remaining second in the Highland League this season but is already planning for the future.

The Harlaw Park boss said: “Kyle’s done really well for us. He went out and played in the juniors, for Colony Park, for a few weeks.

“We put him out because I wanted him to be fully match fit and get 90 minutes every week.

“He’s done that and he’s come back sharp and his performances have been really good.

“Craig’s another I’ve been impressed with and he’s right in the mix and in my thoughts every week.

“The players we’ve got signed up is positive. The guys are buying into what we’re trying to do.

“I’ve got to put a lot of faith in them and I do believe there is a lot of potential within the squad and the players need to buy into it.

“I’m looking forward to pre-season so I can put a real stamp on things because that’s when you get a lot of your work done.

“There are still five games left to play and a lot left to play for.”
