Dream Aberdeen home with cinema room and hot tub could be yours for £925,000

This stunning home is on the market in Aberdeen's sought after Bieldside area.
This stunning home is on the market in Aberdeen's sought after Bieldside area.

With a state-of-the-art home cinema, sunken hot tub and views to die for, this beautiful Bieldside home is a sight to behold.

Set out over three floors, this luxurious five-bedroom property has been the happiest of homes for John and Lindsay Davidson and their family.

But after 11 wonderful years at Cairn Cot, the couple are reluctantly putting their resplendent residence on the market as they prepare to downsize.

“We returned from living abroad with the children 11 years ago,” says Lindsay.

“We initially lived in Ferryhill and the children were at the international school when we decided to buy Cairn Cot, which was literally a cottage.

“We instantly fell in love with the gardens and we loved the look of the house, the balcony and spiral staircase, which we have also extended.”

Lindsay Davidson, pictured, enjoys her morning coffee on the balcony.

Complete with inviting balconies and a luscious green landscape, Cairn Cot is strikingly beautiful from the outside.

Designer kitchen

Once over the threshold, expectations are exceeded as this property is a lesson in modern family living.

Setting a stylish tone, the property opens up with a hallway which leads through to the formal living room – positioned at the back of property – which boasts a large bay style window recess with space for a dining table.

Every inch of this wonderful home has been upgraded to the highest standard.

This elegant room also has a rotating wood burning stove, views over the gardens and is on open plan to the stunning fitted kitchen.

Even the most reluctant of cooks are bound to be impressed with the kitchen with its fitted units, a large island unit with induction hob with hotplate, a downdraft extractor, two ovens and warming drawer and drawers with magnetic knife storage.

Cooking is a stylish affair in the stunning kitchen.

Originally built in 1950s

In fact Cairn Cot is so modern that it’s hard to believe that it was actually built in the 1950s.

“We completely renovated the house so it’s now on three floors and the house is probably the largest plot on Cairn Road (south facing),” says Lindsay.

“My husband is a bit of a gadget man, so he got Booth Scotland from Inverurie to kit the house out so now we have a Sonos system (wireless home sound system) throughout.

“We have a cinema room and the house is wired throughout each room to have a TV/PlayStation, it also has a launch pad for charging your iPad on the wall.”

A family night at the movies can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home cinema.

Five bedrooms

Also on the entrance level is the main bedroom suite with walk-in wardrobe and a beautiful ensuite shower room while a further double bedroom boasts wardrobe storage.

Meanwhile, the family bathroom is stylishly fitted and houses a wonderful freestanding bath.

Accessed from the kitchen is a separate bedroom suite with Juliette balcony, a spacious walk-in wardrobe and a lovely shower room.

Also leading from the kitchen is an internal hallway with an additional door to the front of the property and access to the boiler room.

This bedroom is made for relaxing.

Entertaining space

A staircase from the hallway leads to the lower floor which is home to the cinema room, with Epson 3D projector, a large family area with bifold glazed doors to the garden and a barbecue area under the cast iron balcony and the spacious well equipped laundry room.

Over the years, Lindsay says their home has been the perfect place to entertain.

“We have had some memorable times and parties at Cairn Cot ranging from our eldest son’s 30th birthday to my husband’s 50th birthday,” says Lindsay.

“We also hosted my parent’s Golden Wedding anniversary and we set up a marquee for my daughter’s graduation.

Throw open the doors during the summer.

“Whoever buys Cairn Cot will not be disappointed, it’s private and it has south facing garden with views to die for.

“I have not had one person come into our house and not commented on how beautiful it is.”

Three floors

A separate cloakroom completes the basement accommodation.

Upstairs, there is a spacious landing, ideal as a study/office area while there are also two wonderful rooms.

The easternmost suite is the epitome of luxury living as it boasts a free-standing bath on a beautifully tiled plinth in the window recess.

There’s plenty of room for storing drinks.

This room also has a balcony while a cleverly positioned dressing and vanity area is tucked behind a dividing panel separated neatly from the bedroom space.

The westernmost room is a sizable room with immense potential for a variety of uses.

The great outdoors

Outside, there is a wonderful garden with a sunken six person hot tub with surrounding decking and lighting.

In addition, there is a wine cellar, single garage and outdoor toilet.

Lindsay believes their home is perfect for young families.

This aerial shot shows how much garden space there is.

“This house definitely needs a young family, especially to use the gardens,” says Lindsay.”

We will not miss one thing in particular in the house when we leave, it’s been a dream to own this beautiful home.”
