There were smiles all around when a group of furry visitors trotted into a sheltered housing complex.
The residents social group at Hanover Court in Inverbervie organised the visit, from Therapy Ponies Scotland, which took place yesterday afternoon.
Shetland ponies Flicker and Applejack clopped their way into the facility and spent time with the pensioners who live there.
The animals met a number of residents and were patted and clapped as they made their away around the communal area.

The visit was one which had excited every one of the residents in the weeks beforehand and was dubbed the highlight of the year by the social committee.
The charity’s visit followed a trip to the geriatric assessment unit, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, last week.
Therapy pets have become popular initiative in recent years, with dogs and other animals also being used to assist helping calm and soothe vulnerable people.
A number of charities are now offering the services to care homes, businesses, schools and universities.
It has been scientifically proven that even stroking an animal slows down the heart rate and reduces blood pressure.
They have also been called in to assist students in universities and help them deal with the stress of academic life.
