Two multi-award winning musicians – Van Morrison and Nile Rodgers – will headline next year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
Event producer, Dougie Brown, has confirmed that following the cancellation of this year’s festival, they’d secured 100% of the acts scheduled to appear this year.
These include multi-Grammy Award winner, Nile Rodgers and Chic; Aberdeenshire’s own Emeli Sandi, while legendary musician, Van Morrison will be the final Garden Stage headliner.
“We were absolutely devastated when we had to cancel Bella this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but are delighted that we have been able to re-book such an incredible line up of artists to appear at our delayed 17th outing next summer,” said Mr Brown.
“Securing another icon with Van Morrison as our final headliner is the icing on the cake.
“We’re also delighted to announce Scottish indie rock band, The Fratellis, will make their Belladrum debut.”
Other bands debuting at the festival taking place at Belladrum Estate near Beauly from July 29-31, 2021, include Belfast punk rockers, Stiff Little Fingers and Scottish band, Goodbye Mr Mackenzie.
Along with international acts and family entertainment, the line-up includes a host of Scottish acts.
These include Tide Lines, Scottish supergroup Manran, Kyle Falconer from The View, Caithness indie band, Neon Waltz, and the Highland’s own, Keir Gibson and singer-songwriter, James MacKenzie.
Closing the Grassroots Stage on Thursday night will be Rhythmnreel.
“The line up feels like a return to the acts our core audience really enjoy,” said Mr Brown.
“We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to what is sure to be the biggest party in Belladrum history next summer.
“Tickets for the festival are sold out but on the first of every month, or as close to it as we can get, there will be re-sale of any tickets returned on skiddle.com.”
Over the years, Belladrum has gained a reputation for its eclectic line-ups, offbeat non-musical entertainment and its all-ages, family-friendly approach.
The festival won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, regarded as the festival industry’s ‘Oscars’.
