Broch hotshot Harris settled and scoring goals for fun

Back-to-back doubles for Fraserburgh forward Gary Harris has taken his season’s goals tally to 11.

Harris, who has scored from the penalty spot in his last two games, believes he is finally settling in at Bellslea following an injury-plagued start.

The 29-year-old Turriff-based graphic designer said: “I’ve scored goals in my last two games and that makes six in my last four matches, so that proves that I’ve started to fit in at the Broch after a suspension and ankle injuries at the start of the season.

“I’m settling in well, getting on really well with everyone at the club and enjoying my football again. It did help that I knew our management team of Mark Cowie and James Duthie when I played alongside Mark and James was joint manager during my time at Turriff United and they knew all about my strengths from that time onwards.

“They have told the other Broch players that the option of going in behind opposing defences with a bit of pace suits my style of play. As well as myself up front we also have Graham Johnston, Paul Campbell, Willie West and young Aidan Combe, all of them different types of players.”

Harris went on to pay tribute to his attacking team-mates and added: “The quality of forwards we have at Bellslea is brilliant, especially when you think that recently we have had the likes of Graham Johnston and Paul Campbell on the bench.

“It was equally pleasing to keep up my scoring record against both Turriff United and Lossiemouth in the last two games, On each occasion I put the ball in the same place, although I do like to mix things up from time-to-time from the spot.”
