Gallery: Street parties in Elgin and Buckie celebrate coronation of the King

Towns across Moray were filled with celebratory cheer, with hundreds coming together to mark the historic event.

Coronation celebrations have been in full swing across Moray, with people of all ages coming together for a street party fit for a King.

Dozens of people filled Elgin Town Hall for a Big Lunch to make most of the special occasion and raise a glass in celebration of His Majesty.

Dressed in kilts, dresses and Union Flag skirts, young and old danced the afternoon away and got a taste of the wide variety of treats on offer.

On a nearby street, neighbours and families also took the opportunity to host a street party and crack out the BBQs.

Meanwhile, crowds gathered on High Street in Buckie on Saturday to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and hospitality to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

The family-friendly event was organised by April and Sean Smith and their neighbour Alana Main to bring the community together.

The small residential street was decked out in bunting and decorations, including four red, white and blue gazebos.
