A9 reopens after earlier accident

The A9 had reopened after an earlier accident in Thurso. The road was closed after an accident involving a cyclist near the town’s Park Hotel. Police confirmed that nobody had been seriously injured. The road was closed for a brief time.  


A9 partially blocked on the Black Isle

The A9 is partially blocked on the Black Isle after a collision. The accident has blocked a lane southbound on the Inverness to Thurso road near the Tore Roundabout. Traffic is understood to be slow in the area as a result.  


A9 reopens after crash north of Inverness

The A9 has reopened after a crash on the Black Isle. The road was blocked for about 45 minutes after a car overturned on the Inverness to Thurso road south of Tore Roundabout. One person was initially reported to be trapped. A police spokeswoman confirmed that they had not been seriously injured.


Dornoch Bridge reopens after wildfire

The Dornoch Bridge has reopened following a wildfire. The fire is still burning but is now sufficiently under control to allow drivers to pass with caution. The A9 Inverness to Thurso road had been closed for nearly two hours due to drifting smoke from the fire.
