Queen’s Birthday Honours: The 17 people from Highlands and Moray on the list

Some are household names, others have been quietly working in their communities to make a difference.

Below are the 17 people from the north of Scotland included on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for 2022.

For many, it was a complete surprise – made all the more special with it being the Platinum Jubilee.

Angus Watson, director of engineering and supply for the RNLI, for services to marine safety and charity (Dingwall)

Nicholas Groves-Raines, director of Groves-Raines Architects, for services to architecture, heritage and conservation (Thurso)

June Love, community relations manager at Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd, for services to the nuclear industry and to the community in Caithness and North Sutherland (Thurso)

Dr Kirsteen ‘Kirsty’ Cole, GP at Skerryvore Medical Practice, Orkney, for services to general practice and the community during Covid-19 (Orphir)
